Layer Chicken Cages
Commercial layer hens typically refer to birds aged 20–72 weeks, during which egg production is at its peak. The main goals of layer management are high egg output, larger egg size, reduced feed consumption, and lower egg breakage rates. Key management practices include disinfecting the house before cage transfer, timely moving birds into cages, proper lighting and environmental control, precise feed formulation, and monitoring egg-laying patterns.
Unlike broiler cages, layer cages feature a sloped floor, allowing eggs to roll gently into the egg tray. For large-scale farms, an automatic egg collection system is also recommended.
